Avenida de América station
The station was built in one go to hold four lines, although the platforms opened one by one as each line arrived. Line 4 came first, on 26 March 1973, with the shallowest platforms, on level -4 and running beneath Francisco Silvela. Line 7 arrived on 17 March 1975 as a terminus, deeper down, with a central platform and two side platforms separated by a wall. Line 6 followed on 11 October 1979 at an intermediate depth, and Line 9, the deepest, beneath Príncipe de Vergara, on 30 December 1983; it was the terminus of the northern section until 24 February 1986.
That same year, on 23 December, the old Line 8 arrived from Nuevos Ministerios through a single-track tunnel; that service ended on 16 December 1996 and the tunnel is now used to move goods within the network. Above the platforms, three levels house the bus terminal. Since 2023 the station has been modernised with ten lifts: the first two, for Lines 4 and 6, came into service on 1 September 2025, and the direct lifts from María de Molina in February 2026.

On the circular lines, Metro de Madrid's timetable sheet only prints departures up to 0:00 on the days shown, although trains keep running after that every 15 minutes: the operator does not publish the time of the last train, and we do not estimate it.
